The devices, browsers, connection and platform requirements for studying with Edu Learning.
This page sets out the technical requirements for studying with Edu Learning. Our programs are designed to work on everyday devices and ordinary home or workplace internet connections, so most learners will not need to change anything. Checking the requirements below before you enrol helps ensure a smooth experience across the website and our learning platform.
Edu Learning is mobile-first: you can study on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. We support current and recent versions of Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Android. For programs involving longer written tasks, a device with a physical keyboard is more comfortable but not required.
Use a current version of Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari, updated within the last two releases. JavaScript and cookies must be enabled for the learning platform to track your progress and keep you signed in. Older browsers, including Internet Explorer, are not supported.
A broadband, NBN or 4G/5G mobile connection of at least 5 Mbps download speed is recommended for streamed video lessons; 10 Mbps or more gives the best experience for live sessions. Video quality adjusts automatically on slower connections, and most reading and quiz activities work comfortably on modest connections. Mobile learners should be mindful of data usage when streaming video.
Lessons include video and audio content, so you will need working speakers or headphones. For live cohorts and coaching sessions, a microphone is required and a webcam is recommended so you can participate fully. Captions are provided on video lessons where available, and transcripts or alternative formats can be requested through our Accessibility Statement pathway.
Programs are delivered through our hosted learning platform, accessed through your browser without any software installation. You will need a valid email address to create your account, cookies enabled to stay signed in, and a PDF reader to open downloadable workbooks and certificates. Some downloads open in a new tab, so allow pop-ups for the learning platform domain if your browser blocks them.
Corporate and school networks sometimes block video streaming or external platforms. If you are studying under a workplace or team licence and content will not load, ask your IT team to allow access to our learning platform and its media streaming domains. We can supply a list of domains to allow on request.
The website and learning platform are built to work with common assistive technologies, including screen readers and keyboard-only navigation, and they respect your device's reduced-motion preference. If any part of a program does not work with your assistive technology, contact us and we will provide the content in another reasonable format.
A typical hour of streamed video lessons uses roughly half a gigabyte of data at standard quality, and more at higher resolutions. If your data allowance is limited, lower the video quality in the player, download workbooks over Wi-Fi and plan live sessions for times when you have a reliable connection. Downloadable resources such as workbooks and certificates are small PDF files that can be saved to any device for offline reading, although lessons themselves require an internet connection.
Enrolment confirmations, receipts, cohort reminders and certificate notifications are sent by email. Add our sending address to your safe senders list so these messages do not land in spam, and keep the email address on your learner account current so nothing important is missed.
